I took up photography as I stepped from the long days of full time work into the heady freedom of early retirement at the end of 2015. The initial joy was it allowed me to stop and see for the first time in decades. An early passion for the natural world and empathy with people became the focus of my photographic attention, capturing moments of human and animal behaviour.
Travel has given opportunities to explore striking locations and more recently I have taken the first steps into studio work and music photography. For everything I learn, I discover a thousand things that I don’t know. This ensures that I recognise the early stage in photographic journey I am at and keeps me challenged and stimulated.
